ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in beautiful Columbia County, NY, where I currently reside. I attended Columbia-Greene Community College out of public high school. A confident young las, I knew art was my drive, but couldn't put my finger on my niche. Until I put my fingers in clay in community college, I had felt all things exciting in art were my calling. For once I was sure, this was my medium.

I do love creating images, whether it be drawing, painting, print making, or photography, and I'd like to consider myself a jack of all trades within these categories as well.

I learned very much about ceramics from the professors, Fred and Laurel Koshetzki at C-GCC and spent a few years after graduating with my A.A. doing independent studies in ceramics. Working closely with the professors there brought me up to speed with the esteemed ceramics program at Alfred University, which I was encouraged to apply to by Fred and Laurel.

After many years of independent study, and having way too much fun tending bar in Hudson, NY, I finally took the plunge and applied to the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. To my excitement, I got accepted in 2011, with a presidential scholorship! Its seemed my life was shaping up quite nicely, although I was not the typical college student straight out of high school.

I learned so much at Alfred, and the more I learned the more the more my love for ceramics grew! I learned from some of the ceramic greats, Andrea Gill, Anne Currier, Ashley Lyon and many more. I also learned valuable printmaking/digital skills and was greatly influenced by being surrounded by so many talented peers.

I graduated in 2013 on the deans list, and have never been more proud of my accomplishments. Now I am wokring on presenting my work to the world, all while figuring out the next step to take so I can keep on creating. Grad school will be my next major step, so I can immerse myself more in the art world I love, and finally be qualified for the college level teaching positions I would love so much to have!
